The
Management of the University of Uyo has over time observed
that there is a large number of indigent students who are otherwise bright, sometimes academically outstanding, but whose
low socio-economic status renders
them incapable of supporting themselves through their studies in the University. There is a great need to
salvage such students from waste for lack of funds. To do this, Management has conceptualized a scheme tagged “The
Hope Scheme”,designed to see to it that no student of the
University of Uyo with a promising academic prospect is allowed to waste and unable to graduate for reasons of
economic disadvantage.
